Examity: Syllabus Language

In this course, you will utilize Examity (opens in a new tab) to take exams remotely. To help you navigate Examity, you will be provided with a Student Guide. For a seamless experience make sure to complete your profile (if applicable) and verify the system requirements before your first exam. On exam day, you will be required to present a form of ID, CatCard or government issued IDs are accepted.

If you are a first time Examity user, upon entering the platform, you will be prompted to complete your profile, follow the steps in Creating Your Profile in Four Easy Steps (opens in a new tab).

System Requirement

  • You must have a laptop or desktop with an operating system.
    • macOS 10.5 or higher
    • Windows Vista or higher
    • ChromeOS

Note

Examity does not support Linux and tablets and phones are not compatible.

  • Your device must have a working webcam, microphone and speakers.
    • Built-in or external devices are compatible.
  • You will need a stable internet connection.
    • Minimum of 2Mbps upload and download required. 10Mbps is preferred.
  • You must use Google Chrome as your browser.
    • Disable your pop-up blocker.

Examity Standard Rules

Students must follow standard rules unless otherwise permitted by your instructor.

  • Must be alone in the room.
  • Clear your desk and work space.
  • Device must stay connected to a power source.
  • Webcam, speakers, and microphone must remain on throughout the test.
  • The proctor must be able to see you for the duration of the test.
  • Must NOT use a phone or other electronic devices.
  • Must NOT use headphones.
  • Must NOT use dual monitors.
  • Must NOT leave your seat.
  • Must NOT talk.
