Troubleshoot Panopto Authorization Error
If you get an error message with the text below while trying to view a PlayPosit Bulb, it means that the Panopto video is restricted or unlisted.
Authorization Error Message: “Panopto authorization needed in order to view this Bulb. Please login to your Panopto account, or make sure you have an already validated Panopto session in order to continue.”
Authenticate in Panopto
Step 1
Select the button Click to sign in and play video.
Step 2
Enter your NetID credentials in the login window that appears.
Step 3
Refresh the page and try to play the Bulb again.
If this error message loops and you still cannot sign into Panopto to view the video, refer to the section below.
Additional Troubleshooting Steps
In the Brightspace course Navbar, select UA Tools and then select Panopto Video. This will open a new tab and authenticate you in your University of Arizona Panopto account. Return to the course site, refresh the page, and try playing the Bulb again.
If you still see the error after authenticating with Panopto, please make sure third party cookies are enabled in your browser.
Enable third-party cookies in:
- Chrome (opens in a new tab)
- Safari (opens in a new tab) (uncheck "Prevent Cross-Site Tracking")
- Firefox (opens in a new tab)
- Edge (opens in a new tab)
