Copy a VoiceThread

Making a copy of a VoiceThread allows you to make changes to a copy without affecting the original. Additionally, during the copy process, the copy can be renamed and student, instructor, and/or all comments can be stripped from the new copy, making it easy to reuse VoiceThread content without having to re-create it or manually manipulate comments. A copy of a VoiceThread can be made from the UArizona VT Home Page (opens in a new tab) or from inside the VoiceThread you wish to copy. To copy a VoiceThread using one of these two methods, follow the subsequent steps.

Copy a VoiceThread from the VT Home Page

Step 1

Navigate to the UArizona VT Home Page (opens in a new tab).

Step 2

Log in using your NetID and Password if necessary.

Step 3

Locate the VoiceThread you would like to make a copy of.

Step 4

Select the Three-dot options button on the VoiceThread, and select the Copy icon.

Step 5

Optionally, choose a new name for the copy by entering a new name in the field containing Copy of and the name of the current VoiceThread to be copied.

Step 6

Optionally, choose which comments to keep by expanding the drop-down menu and selecting one of the following options:

• Include all comments - This will include all comments contained in the original VoiceThread, regardless of the role of the commenter
• Include only my comments - This will keep the VoiceThread owner's comments, and strip away the remaining comments in the new copy
• Don't include any comments - This will strip all comments from the copy of the VoiceThread

Step 7

Select Done. The copy will now appear on your VoiceThread Home Page. You may need to refresh the page to see the new copy.

Copy from Inside a VoiceThread

Step 1

Open the VoiceThread you wish to copy.

Step 2

Select the VoiceThread Options Menu button on the top right of the VoiceThread and select Copy VoiceThread.

Step 3

Select Make a Copy.

Step 4

In the window that appears, choose a new name for the copy by entering a new name in the field containing Copy of and the name of the current VoiceThread to be copied.

Step 5

Optionally, choose which comments to keep by expanding the drop-down menu and selecting one of the following options:

• Include all comments - This will include all comments contained in the original VoiceThread, regardless of the role of the commenter
• Include only my comments - This will keep the VoiceThread owner's comments, and strip away the remaining comments in the new copy
• Don't include any comments - This will strip all comments from the copy of the VoiceThread

Step 6

Select Copy.
